A Wicker Chair Makeover..... French-Style!

So we had this wicker chair that was from the hubs old office that eventually ended up in our living room. Looking a bit like the ugly stepsister in the room of late, I had an ADD moment and decided on a whim that she need a facelift.

French Grain Sack Chair Reupholstery

Well.... after much drooling and looking around on the net, I made myself this little chair that seems to be making a “fuss” on Etsy these days. I've been coveting a French Grain Sack chair for sometime now, and after pouring over several more sites on how to put this together; I took on the challenge a few months ago.

Resurrecting the Old Fireplace Mantel

I guess you could say that my first major piece was the fireplace mantel of my house. I was motivated to do it after painting a little bird cage my daughter and her friend found in the woods behind the house Christmas before last. It sat around here for a while before I picked up a can of white spray paint and went to town on it. After setting it in my garden, my desire for taking the “unwantables” and making them loveable again began. I haven't looked back since!

Back to the fireplace though.

In The Beginning.......

The forming of Vintage Resurrections first started back when I was doing another blog. Some of you might remember my writings and rants over a Tales From The Trenches of Parenting. But writing about the family and it's up's and downs became – quite frankly – boring. There is only so much you can write about kids tantrums and the issues of married life cause a ba-ZILLION people are doing it already all over the world. The final straw came when I started “writing” about other companies products in order to make a buck off the blog.

It was time to close that chapter of my life's journey.
