Tray with French Grain Sack Image

Okay!  Got a "quickie" project you can do in your spare time.  This is gonna be one of those short and sweet, yet rare DIY posts too!

On occasion, I get hold of these really awesome trays and buy them in bulk when I can.  They are an all-wood, distressed grey tray that measures about 4 feet long.  They're perfect as ottoman trays or hanging on your favorite wall.  I usually sell out of them pretty quick when I do get them, so they are definitely a favorite of mine.

This time I decided to kick them up a notch by adding an image.  Of course it had to be French.

An English Footstool and a side of Silver Leafing

Not much work has been done this week as I've been nursing an upper respiratory infection that first started out as allergies.  But I do have a few projects to show you that I managed to finish up before the tissues went-a-flyin'!

My fav is the antique English footstool that I picked up recently.  I decided not to mess with painting it since the wood is a warm rich color that doesn't need to be changed - just enhanced!

All the serious antique collectors just heaved a sign of relief.

French Script Dresser

Well, I made through three birthdays this past week - two of them belonging to my now 15 year old twins.  You know what they both requested as a "present"?

Their drivers license manual.

Paris Grey Coffee Table

It's been busy and funky around here for the past few weeks.   Along with getting ready for 3 birthdays that hit at once this time of here (the twins and the hubs!), half the family decided to take on allergies to Goldenrod and the tissues have been flying!  I was hit hard for a couple of days and about the time I got better, I thought it a good idea to dump 2 - 20 year old spice bottles of cayenne pepper into the trash at once.

A plume of dust followed.

Nashville Flea Market - The Good, The Bad, and......

So some of you know how bloody excited I was about heading out to the Nashville Flea Market a couple weeks ago.  When you have your itinerary scheduled down to bathroom breaks, this is a serious trip!  One of my kids was headed to Awa-Con that weekend with friends, so we packed - minimally - the other three kids up in the truck fully prepared to come back with a load and a half!

Then freaking reality hit when we got there!
