Black Hand Painted French Drawers

I picked up this antique set of drawers not too long ago from one of my first estates sales out in Cusseta, AL.  To say that this piece was in a bit of a wreck is actually being kind.  I always like pieces that have been slapped with a heavy piece of gag-me green linoleum that I have to scrap and pull off the top.  When I mean pull off, I mean stand on the top of the dresser and pull OFF!

The drawers were all wobbly and the veneer was a mess as well, but I looked at it as an awesome challenge.

French Farmhouse-style Hutch

I was really excited about this piece when I was asked to transform it for a client.  It's a primitive, handmade piece that need a little attention, but still had good bones to it.

There is also a shelf to the top and a slanted one that was later made for the bottom since the piece is used to display jewelry and other items at a Spa Auburn here in town.

Guest Post from The Magic Brush, Inc. - "What Determines The Price of Painted Furniture"

I recently read this post from Facebook from "The Magic Brush, Inc.". What she says is SO important for both buyers of painted furniture and makers of it that it needs to be said over and over again.

Most buyers do not understand what goes into each piece. Hopefully, if even one reads this post, they can educate those around them as to what we do and how the price of what we do reflects that.

Thank you again to Jennifer for writing and posting this piece!
