Just a Whole Mess of Stuff Going on....

So here the latest item I’m working on, but still haven’t finished due to the paint being out of stock at the moment.  Leave it to touch ups to totally slow me down.  In the meantime, I built myself a work table to house my router and table saw.  I’ve been using them on the floor of my garage and that hasn’t worked out too well for me since I sent a board splintering all over the place due to lack of support behind the table saw.

It's a wonder I can figure out how to do anything I do these days.

The "French Renaissance Woman"

Ever have one of those moments when you see something and your entire life comes to a halt as you design around it?

But of COURSE you have!

That's been the past 3 weeks on this lady.  I call her the "French Renaissance Woman" because I recently took a little stinking, boiling hot vaca up to Washington D.C., recently and was inspired.

When you visit the Smithsonian American Art Museum and it's vast collection of furniture and art; life radically changes for a while.  I actually hid from the kids for a WHOLE half hour in the French art collection.  If it weren't for my sworn motherly duties, I would have moved in there.

 Swoon!

Bringing Back The Booth!

It's been awhile since I've done this, but here we go again.  I've reopened a booth over at Angel's Antiques here in Opelika, AL.  It's one of the more defining and popular stores in our area, and people from ALL around come here for awesome goodies.

As you can see, I just couldn't deal with the ick barf unsightly pegboard walls that seem to decorate every booth in there.  I went for the "gusto" on this one.

Industrial Vintage Heaven!

Well hello world!  Long time no freaking see... of me... because it's been a MOST tumultuous year!  Let's see, where do I begin with this soap opera???

My father died...
Separated from the hubs...
Bought a house...
Saw both the twins through some very heart wrenching breakups themselves (after my breakup, of course, because I had to tell them what I learned) ....
Put one child in private school....
Put another child in homeschooling...
Found a job (cause child support just ain't cutting it here) ....
Van blew up - had to get another car...
Working on a completely different "furniture" direction....
FINALLY getting back to my creative self.

I have literally navigated through 4 of the 5 top stressors in life and freaking LIVED to talk about it.
